The original hotel was built in the traditional "Swiss" architectural style and despite the many phases of expansion and restoration work, the appearance of the main building remains true to the original concept. As a result, Kvikne's is a modern hotel with personality and "soul", with the atmosphere of centuries.

The Kvikne's hotel - the excellent Norwegian historic fjord hotel by the Sognefjord - offers marvelous views of the fjord and the surrounding mountains. The Kvikne family assumed ownership of the hotel in 1877, and has owned and operated the hotel ever since. The hotel is located in the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand, one of the top destinations of the fjords.
