Frequently asked questions

Brochures

As we try to put as much information as possible on our web sites, and we update the web site with new tours and products throughout the year, we don't print brochures anymore.

If you have any questions regarding our tours, please send us an e-mail or use the online contact formulary whereupon we will get back to you with further details.

If you are looking for general brochures on travel to Norway, please visit the official travel guide to Norway at www.visitnorway.com, select your country and then follow the 'Brochures' link in the top menu.

USA: brochures - UK: brochures

Unescorted / individual tours

Most of our tours are based on individual travel, hence you will not be traveling with a group or a tour guide.

You will receive a detailed itinerary including the departure and arrival times and the accommodation (type of room, number of nights, hotel address, phone number to the hotels etc.)

If you need assistance during your trip in Norway, you will find an emergency number at the bottom of the itinerary. Please leave a message and we will assist you asap.

We will deliver the required vouchers and tickets to your first hotel before your arrival to Norway, 1 ticket/voucher per travel item. The itinerary will describe which ticket to use on each part of your trip.

The individual/unescorted tours allow a maximum of flexibility for each of our customers - you can add or deduct nights at the various destinations, where available you can choose earlier or later departures each day, and there is also a choice of hotels depending on availability.

On most of the individual tours only breakfast buffet is included, allowing you your own choice of restaurants and food while on route.

Clothing and temperatures

General advise

Summer season:
varying between 10 and 20 degrees Celsius (+/-).
For cruises in the open sea; bring a windproof jacket preferably with a hood, a warm sweater and mittens. For all tours a light wind- and waterproof jacket and a warm sweater is advisable.

Winter season:
varying between -10 and +10 degrees Celsius (+/-). Normally snow in the eastern and northern parts of the country and in the mountain areas, with less snow in the west and the fjord areas.
Bring a warm and windproof jacket, a woolen hat, mittens, a warm woolen sweater, warm winter shoes and preferably windproof trousers for the northern and eastern parts of the country.

For our Northern Lights tours and cruises the operators of the activities provide appropriate clothing (for the dog sledding, snow mobile safari, horse sleigh rides etc.). For skiing and snow shoing you have to bring your own clothing, but skiing and snow shoing equipment will be provided.
