Norwegian Coastal Voyage general information

Unlike any other Norway cruises the Norwegian Coastal Voyage ships are combined cruise ships, working ships and public transport for the locals. During the cruise the ships sail into fjords, through narrow passages and make ports of call in tiny fishing villages and coastal cities all the way along the extensive coast line. Enjoy the Midnight sun and the bright nights during a summer cruise or the spectacular Northern Lights during an exotic winter cruise, or enjoy a traditional Norwegian Christmas onboard! Choose between an extensive program of interesting and adventurous optional shore excursions en route

Round trip cruises & cruise packages
Status onboard:
1.) You will have a specific cabin booked up front, not just a cabin type, hence you can request a preferred location (deck/starboard/portside)
2.) You will receive the beautiful book about the Norwegian Coastal Voyage
3.) You will have a set table/seating at dinner each night
4.) All meals are included: breakfast buffet, lunch buffet with hot and cold dishes and 3 course dinner
5.) An English speaking tour guide will be available throughout the cruise

Port-to-port cruise packages
The ship company reserves a major part of the cabins for the round trip cruises, hence the cabin availability for the port-to-port cruise packages is limited. Early booking is advisable!
As cabin capacity normally will be released between 1 and 2 months before cruise departure, a late booking is also possible.

Status onboard:
1.) A specific cabin category will be booked in advance, and you will receive the actual cabin upon check-in onboard. It is not possible to request a specific cabin location up front
2.) Normally the breakfast buffet only is included in the package, unless other meals are indicated in the specific tour itinerary
3.) Meals in the dining room - lunch buffet with hot and cold dishes and 3 course dinner - can be booked upon check-in or while onboard, alternatively you can buy meals from the self service cafeteria onboard

Winter cruises

Climate & clothing:
The temperature normally varies between +5 and -10 degrees Celsius depending on the latitude. The mean temperature in Tromsoe in January is only -3 degrees C, due to the coastal climate. In Bergen the mean temperature in January is above 0.
For the outdoor sightseeing/activities make sure to bring a warm sweater, windproof & warm outer jacket with a hood, windproof & warm trousers, warm & waterproof winter shoes, mittens and a woolen hat.
There is no formal dress code for the evenings onboard. As the Christmas Eve (December 24) is the main celebration in Norway, most passengers will dress up a bit for this special occasion.
