is a
phenomenon occurring in latitudes north to the
Arctic Circle and south and nearby to the north of the Antarctic
Circle where the sun remains visible at the local midnight.
Given fair weather, the sun is visible for a continuous 24
hours. The number of days per year with potential midnight sun
increases the further north of the Arctic Circle or south of the
Antarctic Circle one goes.
The Arctic Circle in North Norway is located close to the Arctic
town of Bodo and south of the Lofoten Islands.
South of the Arctic Circle in Norway the nights are bright
("white") as well during spring/early summer due to the
altitude, although the sun is not visible all night

Day 3 - Arctic
Gourmet

Choose from our extensive program of optional day time activities before you enter Emma's famous, tiny gourmet

Day 4 -
Midnight sun round trip
- Arctic scenery, culture and the way of
living
Time to explore the city before you will be picked up at your
hotel in the evening for a 4 hour midnight sun/white night round
trip, including a meal with local
food.
Your guide Ivar Haugen will show you the most beautiful Arctic
scenery; the fjords, the islands and the Barents Sea. You will see
hundreds of seabirds and may be the white tailed sea eagle and some
reindeers. He will also tell you about the local history and the Arctic way of living.

Day 5 -
Tromso-Bergen
Flight to Bergen via Oslo.

Enjoy a full day to explore the sights of Bergen - including a 3
hour city tour, with visits to Troldhaugen (the composer Edvard Grieg's home)

Day 7 - Bergen-Sognefjord/Balestrand
Enjoy the express steamer cruise along the scenic coast line to the
Sognefjord and the beautiful fjord village of Balestrand.
