DAY 1

First night in Oslo

Individual arrival to Oslo. Check in at the centrally located Hotel Bristol, close to the Karl Johansgate main street. You can take the airport bus directly to the hotel.

DAY 2

Travel to Arctic Tromso

Flight to the Arctic town of Tromso, beautifully located surrounded by islands & mountain peaks. Tromso is the world’s northernmost university town. Store your luggage at a hotel in the city centre before you explore the city on your own.
Take the cable car to Mount Storsteinen and admire the view of the city and its surroundings, visit the Arctic Cathedral, the Polaria Activity Centre and Aquarium, the Polar Museum.

Aurora Husky Visit & Cruise departure

In the evening you will be picked up for an Aurora Husky Visit to Tromso Wilderness Centre, located on the Kvaloya island outside Tromso.
The Aurora camp has a great location for viewing the Northern Lights, and you can also meet the dogs in the dog yard. You will be served a traditional, light evening meal in a lavvo (Sami tent). Transfers included.

Board a Hurtigruten ship just before midnight for a really unforgettable cruise to Stamsund on Lofoten Islands.

DAY 3

Cruise & Arrival at Lofoten Islands

Cruise through the narrow Risoyrenna channel after leaving Harstad. Stokmarknes with the Hurtigruten Museum, then on to Vesteralen Islands & the spectacular Lofoten Islands.
You will disembark in Stamsund village in the evening.

DAY 4

Lofoten Islands RIB Safari

Join a RIB boat ride along the inner seaside of Lofoten. You will follow the fjords and the deepest mountains to your destination. You will see Lofoten from the seaside and the fantastic wildlife.
Stops will be made during the trip to tell you all about the interesting history over the last thousand years. You will make a longer break at a small fishing village where you will go for a walk before your return to Stamsund.

Hunting the Northern Lights

In the evening join a Northern Lights hunting by minibus. This excursion takes you from Stamsund to a location with a minimum of artificial lights.
The experienced guide will search for the best spot according to the current weather conditions, searching for a clear sky & the magic Northern Lights!

DAY 5

Crab Safari & Cruise departure

Experience an exciting Crab Safari from Stamsund today. After dressing up you head out to sea in search for the crab pots that has been set out along the shore the day before. You will assist in taking up the pots. You might get a glimpse of wildlife during the trip!
Upon returning you will be served today’s fish or shell soup, (depending on daily availability) as well as todays’ crab catch.

DAY 6

Cruise the magical Helgeland coast

Today you will cross the Arctic Circle at 66° 33’ N. As you sail along the Helgeland coast you pass hundreds of islets, with views of the spectacular Seven Sisters mountain range.
The ship will also pass the Torghatten mountain close to Bronnoysund, famous for its distinctive hole right through the middle.

DAY 7

Trondheim, Molde & Alesund

The tiny island of Munkholmen leads the way to the historic town of Trondheim, with picturesque areas of tiny, wooden houses (Bakklandet) and the medieval Nidaros Cathedral.
You can explore the city on your own or join an optional land excursion.
The ship continues out the wide Trondheim fjord, passing by the beautiful island of Hitra and the open sea of Hustadvika before approaching the towns of Molde & Alesund towards midnight.

DAY 8

Arrival to Bergen

Magnificent western Norway scenery with mouths of fjords and a lush, beautiful archipelago, including the island kingdom of Oygarden, before the ship approaches Bergen. Arrival to Bergen at 14:30. Check in at a centrally located 4* hotel.

DAY 9

Norway in a Nutshell® day excursion

Start by local train to Voss, where a connecting coach picks you up for a trip scenic trip across local mountain areas to the Gudvangen valley and the tiny fjord village of Gudvangen.
Board a ferry for a 2-hour fjord cruise on the inner branches of the Sognefjord; the Unesco Naeroyfjord & the Aurlandsfjord.

The Naeroyfjord means the narrow fjord in Norwegian – the narrower branch of the Sognefjord, with steep mountain sides and tiny farms clinging to the mountain sides. There is no road access due to the steep sides of the fjord.

Disembark in Flam fjord village, with a short walk to the tiny Flam train station.

Flam Railway & Bergen Line

Board the famous Flam Railway for an unforgettable journey from fjord to mountain, through the scenic Flam Valley with mountain peaks, cascading waterfalls & the beautiful river.
The Flam Railway is one of the steepest standard gauge railway lines in the world. At the tiny Myrdal mountain station you change to the main Bergen Line, returning to Bergen.
