Join an exciting Snowmobile Safari!
A wonderful journey awaits you! You will be transferred from your hotel in Kirkenes to an old Norwegian farmhouse, where you will be dressed in warm protective clothing and given a lesson on how to handle your snowmobile.

This is an optional activity which you can add to your tour booked through Fjord Travel Norway. The activity with prices will appear during the regular tour booking process.

Depending on the tour, the snowmobile safari is available as a single activity or a package with a night at a hotel in Kirkenes, or a night at the amazing Snowhotel.

General information:

There will be 2 people to 1 snowmobile, with many chances to change drivers with short photo stops on the way. 

You need to be at least 18 and have a valid car driver´s license in order to drive the snowmobile. Underage passengers are welcome.

Included: Warm clothing (overall, boots, balaclava), helmet and security instruction. Transfers.

Make sure to wear warm undergarments (wool or fleece is recommended).

Difficulty level: Average physical condition – involves physical activity on uneven surface and/or steep terrain. Not suitable if you have limited mobility.

About the Snowhotel:

Kirkenes Snowhotel opened for the first time in 2006, and since then they have been giving guests a wonderful experience in one of Norway´s most beautiful surroundings. 

The Snowhotel has a large Ice bar room and 20 hotel rooms, a large service building next door with comfortable lounges, showers, bathroom facilities and a sauna. They also have an exotic restaurant offering meals based on local produce, a dog yard with 130 huskies for dog sledding trips & a tiny reindeer park.

Every room in Kirkenes Snowhotel is like a small treasure, uniquely decorated by artists from around the world. All of the 20 rooms have a different theme from Arctic culture or nature. The lighted ice sculptures give the Snowhotel a very cosy and special atmosphere.
No matter the temperature outside, the snow hotel holds a stable -4 Celsius temperature.

In the end we were glad to have the extra night in Kirkenes, to visit their lovely museum and take a trip to the Russian border. It was a good way to end the tour. Again, thank for staying with us through 2 years of pandemic postponements and changes. We certainly will recommend Fjord Travel in the future.
