Travel to Arctic Tromso

Flight to the Arctic town of Tromso, beautifully located surrounded by islands & mountain peaks. Tromso is the world’s northernmost university town. Store your luggage at a hotel in the city centre before you explore the city on your own.
Take the cable car to Mount Storsteinen and admire the view of the city and its surroundings, visit the Arctic Cathedral, the Polaria Activity Centre and Aquarium, the Polar Museum.

Aurora Husky Visit & Cruise departure

In the evening you will be picked up for an Aurora Husky Visit to Tromso Wilderness Centre, located on the Kvaloya island outside Tromso.
The Aurora camp has a great location for viewing the Northern Lights, and you can also meet the dogs in the dog yard. You will be served a traditional, light evening meal in a lavvo (Sami tent). Transfers included.

Board a Hurtigruten ship just before midnight for a really unforgettable cruise to Stamsund on Lofoten Islands.

Stops will be made during the trip to tell you all about the interesting history over the last thousand years. You will make a longer break at a small fishing village where you will go for a walk before your return to Stamsund.

Experience an exciting Crab Safari from Stamsund today. After dressing up you head out to sea in search for the crab pots that has been set out along the shore the day before. You will assist in taking up the pots. You might get a glimpse of wildlife during the trip!
Upon returning you will be served today’s fish or shell soup, (depending on daily availability) as well as todays’ crab catch.

Norway in a Nutshell® day excursion

Start by local train to Voss, where a connecting coach picks you up for a trip scenic trip across local mountain areas to the Gudvangen valley and the tiny fjord village of Gudvangen.
Board a ferry for a 2-hour fjord cruise on the inner branches of the Sognefjord; the Unesco Naeroyfjord & the Aurlandsfjord.

The Naeroyfjord means the narrow fjord in Norwegian – the narrower branch of the Sognefjord, with steep mountain sides and tiny farms clinging to the mountain sides. There is no road access due to the steep sides of the fjord.

Disembark in Flam fjord village, with a short walk to the tiny Flam train station.

  • On behalf of the group I would like to thank you and your colleagues for organizing our wonderful tour of Norway. Everything went very well including the weather, which was spectacular. We enjoyed all the hotels, the central locations you chose and the amenities, especially the lavish breakfasts. Three extra days in Oslo allowed us to tour the city at our leisure and to enjoy more of the important sights including the newly opened National Museum. The Norway in a Nutshell tour was amazing and made much easier by using your recommended porterage service between hotels in Oslo and Bergen. Both the train journeys and the boat trip were spectacular, and combined with a night in the beautiful Kviknes Hotel made for an unforgettable two days. We were very impressed by the Hurtigruten cruise, particularly the way they combined a working ship with a cruise ship, the comfortable accommodations, the food and service. It was fascinating to visit all the various ports, islands and fjords and the two included tours were excellent and informative. In the end we were glad to have the extra night in Kirkenes, to visit their lovely museum and take a trip to the Russian border. It was a good way to end the tour.
