Why book your Norwegian adventure with Fjord Travel Norway?

Ever been somewhere and had that nagging feeling you missed the real highlights? That disappointing realization that you saw the tourist spots but somehow missed the soul of the place?

We know that feeling. That's exactly why we've crafted tours that squeeze every drop of awesome out of your trip to Norway – no matter how many days you've got.

Who are we?

We're Fjord Travel Norway – a Norwegian company made up of passionate locals who genuinely love exploring and sharing our remarkable country. We live for exploring this country, and honestly – we love showing it off even more, and have been doing so for over 25 years. So we've created tours that let you experience Norway's natural wonders and rich cultural heritage – tailored to your interests.

Whether you're drawn to our dramatic fjords and mountains, mesmerizing northern lights, our up-and-coming art scene, or innovative Nordic cuisine, we've designed journeys that deliver both the iconic experiences and those special hidden gems that make a trip truly memorable.

What do we actually do?

Consider us your personal travel curators. We handle the logistics from the moment you arrive in Norway until your departure – so you can focus on enjoying the experience. While you sort out your international flights, we'll orchestrate the rest of your Norwegian symphony.

We partner with highly qualified local guides who bring depth and insight to every excursion. Plus, we offer carefully selected optional activities along the way – giving you flexibility while maintaining the comfort of a well-planned itinerary.

You'll travel comfortable on local buses, trains, and boats. We have the timetables and make sure it all corresponds. That means you can experience Norway the way we locals do, but with the reassurance of pre-arranged connections and reserved seats (if possible).

It's authentic, it's sustainable, and honestly? It gives you the best stories. There's something special about sharing a train journey with locals heading home for the weekend, to work, or maybe they are going to «Hytta».

What if something goes wrong?

Rest assured, we've got you! Norway's geography – with its narrow roads, ferry connections, and occasionally moody weather – can sometimes have its own agenda. What might feel concerning to you is just another Tuesday for us.

If unexpected changes occur, our experienced and solution-focused customer service team (yes, actual humans who know the difference between Bergen and Bærum) will quickly arrange alternatives. We'll make sure your holiday continues smoothly, even when Norwegian weather decides to show its dramatic side.

Our mission

We want you returning home with meaningful stories that'll be your go-to conversation starters for years to come. Our goal isn't just ticking off sights – it's helping you truly understand and connect with Norway's culture, nature, and people.

We don't want you to just see Norway – we want you to feel it

We're genuinely committed to creating tourism that enriches our local communities. We collaborate with local guides and family-run businesses, supporting authentic tourism in the communities, while ensuring you experience the genuine warmth of Norwegian hospitality. By using our excellent public transportation, we actually both relieves pressure on the roads and strengthen these transportation options, that are so important for the communities.

Questions about our approach or your journey? We'd love to hear from you – seriously, don't be shy. We're much friendlier than the stereotype suggests!

Our featured tours weave together Norway's most compelling stories - from the intimate pulse of the cities to the raw Arctic life. In Stavanger's cobbled streets, we've secured your evening at three-starred Re-Naa, where Chef Sven Erik Renaa transforms Norwegian seafood to edible art. Meanwhile, in Alta's snow-draped wilderness, local families share their Arctic way of life, teaching you to feel the heartbeat of the north through traditional practices passed down through generations.
