You'll ride the legendary Bergen Line across mountain plateaus, descend the famous Flåm Railway through hand-carved tunnels, and cruise the mighty Sognefjord – Norway's longest and deepest fjord. Your base for two nights is the historic Kviknes Hotel in Balestrand, welcoming travelers since 1877. Wake up to Sognefjord views from your window, explore the village's art galleries and orchards, or simply settle into the hotel's period charm with a book and a view. The pace here is deliberately slower – this is where you decompress and let the fjord work its magic. The route forms a scenic loop from Oslo: train to Bergen, boat to Balestrand, Flåm Railway connection, and Bergen Line return. Everything's arranged, nothing's rushed, and you're traveling the way locals insist is best – by rail and boat, not rental car queues. Book early to secure your preferred travel dates!
