Snow mobile Safari & overnight in Tromso
Enjoy an adventurous Northern Lights excursion with Snow mobile in the Arctic wilderness of the remote Tamok valley, ideally located outside the city lights. Due to the geographical location, the climate is drier and colder than in Tromso, thus offering a maximum chance of seeing the amazing Northern Lights.
This is an optional add-on package with excursion & overnight in Tromso, which you can add to your Northern Lights trip booked through Fjord Travel Norway. The additional night will be at the same hotel as the rest of the tour. The add-on option will appear during the tour booking process, with prices and details.
The excursion bus will pick you up in the centre of Tromso in the late afternoon, then through remote Arctic areas outside the city lights, with chances of spotting the Northern Lights en route.
The excursion bus will bring you back to the centre of Tromso after the excursion.
About the Snow mobile:
You need no previous skills to drive a snowmobile, all you need is normal physical condition. The excursion begins with a thorough safety introduction. The trail has a distance of 15 km each way, 30 km in total, the drive will last about 2-2,5 hours. The starting point is at 250 m above sea level, and the guide brings you up to 900 m. You will be driving in pairs, one driver and one passenger on each snowmobile, with opportunity to switch places during the trip. You need to bring your drivers license to drive the snowmobile.
Transfer from the centre of Tromso by bus/minibus.
Insulated body suit, boots, gloves, headwear and helmet
Overnight stay w/breakfast
Make sure to wear warm undergarments (wool or fleece is recommended)
What to bring: Comfortable shoes, warm and windproof clothing (special clothing will be provided).
Age restrictions: Min. 7 years old and accompanied by an adult.
Notices: Guests under 18 and guests without a driving license are not allowed to drive the snowmobiles.
Difficulty level: Average physical condition – involves physical activity on uneven surface and/or steep terrain. Not suitable if you have limited mobility.
