Check into your hotel in this small borderland town. The surrounding wilderness offers exceptional conditions for Northern Lights viewing due to minimal light pollution and extreme northern latitude.

This evening's included experience is Northern Lights dog sledding through Arctic wilderness. Glide behind a team of eager huskies across frozen landscapes for approximately two hours, keeping watch for the aurora dancing overhead. Your guides position the group in areas with clear skies and minimal light interference.

Kirkenes arctic adventures & Snow Hotel magic

Today's included activity is king crab fishing in the icy waters near the Russian border. Join local fishermen to haul these massive Arctic creatures – which can measure over a meter across – from beneath the ice. Cook your catch over an open fire and feast on fresh king crab in the Arctic landscape.

Tonight you're sleeping in the Kirkenes Snowhotel – an extraordinary structure crafted entirely from ice and snow. Your room features ice sculptures and detailed carvings, with everything from beds to walls made from compacted snow. The included thermal sleeping bag keeps you surprisingly comfortable despite sub-zero temperatures.

Dinner is served at the Snowhotel's restaurant before you retire to your ice room. In the morning, a sauna provides welcome warmth before breakfast.

Return to Oslo - urban exploration day

After breakfast at the Snowhotel, transfer to Kirkenes Airport for your flight back to Oslo. The contrast between Arctic borderlands and the capital's urban energy highlights Norway's remarkable diversity within a single country.

Arrive in Oslo and check into your centrally located hotel. Your afternoon and evening are free to explore further. The MUNCH Museum showcases Norway's most famous artist, while Grünerløkka neighborhood features independent shops, street art, and cafés. Karl Johan street connects the Royal Palace to the central station, lined with shops and restaurants.

Oslo to Flåm - The famous railway journey

Board the morning Bergen Line from Oslo for one of Norway's most scenic train journeys. The route climbs through forested valleys before crossing the vast Hardangervidda plateau at over 1,200 meters elevation – Northern Europe's highest mainline railway. Watch the landscape transform from urban surroundings to mountain terrain where frozen lakes and snow-covered expanses stretch to the horizon.

At Myrdal mountain station, transfer to the Flåm Railway for a dramatic 20-kilometer descent. The line drops 863 meters through 20 tunnels carved by hand through solid rock. The train stops at Kjosfossen waterfall, where water cascades beside the tracks, before continuing its steep descent to Flåm.

Arrive in Flåm – a quiet village surrounded by towering mountains at the inner end of Aurlandsfjord. Check into your accommodation. Dinner is included this evening.

Flåm to Bergen - The grand finale

Board your morning fjord cruise from Flåm through the Aurlandsfjord and into the UNESCO-listed Nærøyfjord. The electric boat's silent propulsion allows you to hear waterfalls cascading down steep mountainsides without engine noise. The Nærøyfjord narrows to just 250 meters wide in places, with mountains rising almost vertically from the water.

Disembark in Gudvangen and board a bus through Nærøydalen valley to Voss. The route follows the valley floor with views of farms clinging to hillsides and waterfalls dropping from heights. At Voss, transfer to the train for the final journey to Bergen.

Arrive in Bergen and check into your centrally located hotel. Your evening is free to explore Norway's second city. The UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf features colorful wooden buildings that once housed medieval merchants. The Fløibanen funicular climbs Mount Fløyen for views across the city and surrounding islands.
