Morning departure by express
boat from the centre of Bergen, taking you through beautiful coastal scenery, with narrow straits, islands, summer houses & tiny villages, then on to the majestic Sognefjord – the world’s longest fjord.
The fjord cruise continues to the inner part of the Sognefjord and the spectacular Aurlandsfjord branch. Disembark in the tiny fjord village of Flåm, with time to look around or have lunch.

Board the Flåm Railway for an unforgettable journey through the spectacular Flåm Valley to the mountain station of Myrdal, where you join the main Bergen Line, returning to Bergen.

Cruise to Mostraumen by Rodne Fjordcruise

Mostraumen strait

Deep fjords, sheer mountains, mighty waterfalls and powerful currents! This spectacular cruise takes you up the 27-km long Osterfjorden in Vestland province.
Innermost in the fjord is tiny Modalen, the second smallest municipality in Norway with about 380 residents. Underway, the fjord narrows between the steep mountains as you are brought safely through the strong currents of the shallow and narrow Mostraumen strait.
Waterfalls en route can give your face a really refreshing shower at times of peak water flow!

Hardangerfjord excursion & Additional night in Bergen*
Enjoy this extensive round trip, with local train to Voss, then coach to the Hardangerfjord, followed by a fjord cruise to Eidfjord village, where you join an excursion bus.

The dramatic Måbødal canyon: The bus takes you through the breathtaking Måbødal canyon to the edge of the Hardangervidda mountain plateau, with dramatic views of the impressive Vøringsfossen waterfall.

The Vøringsfossen waterfall is among Norway’s most famous natural features, with a free-falling drop of approx. 180 m.

The excursion bus returns to Eidfjord village, followed by a fjord cruise to Norheimsund & connecting bus back to Bergen.

The add-on with prices will appear during the tour booking process.

*From August 28 we can offer the following Hardanger day excursion. This will include train to Voss and coach across the Hardangerbrua bridge to Eidfjord taking you through beautiful fjord landscapes. In Eidfjord you will do sightseeing by taxi taking you through the Måbødalen canyon to the Vøringsfossen waterfall. Return to Bergen by coach and train. Please write in the comment box upon booking if you would like to book this option. Alternatively, send us an email.

  • On behalf of the group I would like to thank you and your colleagues for organizing our wonderful tour of Norway. Everything went very well including the weather, which was spectacular. We enjoyed all the hotels, the central locations you chose and the amenities, especially the lavish breakfasts. Three extra days in Oslo allowed us to tour the city at our leisure and to enjoy more of the important sights including the newly opened National Museum. The Norway in a Nutshell tour was amazing and made much easier by using your recommended porterage service between hotels in Oslo and Bergen. Both the train journeys and the boat trip were spectacular, and combined with a night in the beautiful Kviknes Hotel made for an unforgettable two days. We were very impressed by the Hurtigruten cruise, particularly the way they combined a working ship with a cruise ship, the comfortable accommodations, the food and service. It was fascinating to visit all the various ports, islands and fjords and the two included tours were excellent and informative. In the end we were glad to have the extra night in Kirkenes, to visit their lovely museum and take a trip to the Russian border. It was a good way to end the tour. Again, thank for staying with us through 2 years of pandemic postponements and changes. We certainly will recommend Fjord Travel in the future.
