DAY 1

First night in Oslo

Individual arrival in Oslo. Overnight in the centre of Oslo. The city centre is located only 20 mins from the airport by the airport express train (Flytoget).

DAY 2

Flight to Bodø

2-hour flight to Bodø
The Arctic town of Bodø is located on an unsheltered peninsula just north of the Arctic Circle. The small town founded in 1816 used to be a centre for fishing activity. Now, Bodø is the second largest town in northern Norway. The town is surrounded by sea and fjord, and home to the famous Saltstraumen maelstrom.

DAY 3

Bodø & Cruise to Lofoten

Board one of the authentic Hurtigruten or Havila Voyages ships for a cruise across the Vestfjord to the spectacular Lofoten Islands, with views of the majestic Lofoten Wall. The ship reaches Lofoten Islands in the late evening. Disembark in Svolvær– the largest fishing village in the Lofoten Islands.

DAY 4

Highlights of Henningsvær

Enjoy a 3-hour private sightseeing tour through the beautiful landscape of the Lofoten Islands. During the tour you will have several photo stops at historical sites and beaches, in Kabelvåg, Rørvika and Henningsvær. In Henningsvær there will be a longer stop with a short guided walk, before you can explore the fishing village on your own, and visit small galleries, handcraft shops and cafes.
The trip is by minivan with a knowledgeable local guide.

DAY 5

Sea Eagle Safari to Trollfjorden

Experience a Sea Eagle safari by RIB boat from Svolvær to the Trollfjord. After dressing up, you head out to sea. The journey starts from the harbour of Svolvær, and takes you through Raftsundet to the majestic Trollfjorden.
A large number of sea eagles inhabit Raftsundet, and there will be several stops along the way to come up close to these magnificent birds. The sea eagle is the largest bird of prey in Norway, with a wingspan reaching up to 2.65 metres.
The narrow and scenic Trollfjord is surrounded by steep mountains. The guide will tell you stories from the Trollfjord, both from its past and present.

DAY 6

Flight to Oslo

Flight from Svolvær to Oslo, via Bodø.
Spend the rest of the day exploring the Norwegian Capital on your own. Visit the iconic Opera House, the spectacular Vigeland Sculpture Park, the Munch Museum, the Holmenkollen Ski Jump.
Spend 1 night in Oslo (included in the tour price)

On behalf of the group I would like to thank you and your colleagues for organizing our wonderful tour of Norway. Everything went very well including the weather, which was spectacular. We enjoyed all the hotels, the central locations you chose and the amenities, especially the lavish breakfasts. Three extra days in Oslo allowed us to tour the city at our leisure and to enjoy more of the important sights including the newly opened National Museum. The Norway in a Nutshell tour was amazing and made much easier by using your recommended porterage service between hotels in Oslo and Bergen. Both the train journeys and the boat trip were spectacular, and combined with a night in the beautiful Kviknes Hotel made for an unforgettable two days. We were very impressed by the Hurtigruten cruise, particularly the way they combined a working ship with a cruise ship, the comfortable accommodations, the food and service. It was fascinating to visit all the various ports, islands and fjords and the two included tours were excellent and informative. In the end we were glad to have the extra night in Kirkenes, to visit their lovely museum and take a trip to the Russian border. It was a good way to end the tour. Again, thank for staying with us through 2 years of pandemic postponements and changes. We certainly will recommend Fjord Travel in the future.
