The guide will meet you at the quay, before telling you about the city’s history while pointing out the highlights on the bus ride through Trondheim. At the photo stop at “Utsikten” you get an overview of the fjord, the city landscape and many of Trondheim’s landmarks. Can you spot the 91 metre high Nidaros Cathedral towering over the city?
During the Middle Ages, the Nidaros Cathedral was one of the most important pilgrimage destinations in Northern Europe. The grave of St Olav, the Viking king who brought Christianity to Norway, is located beneath the cathedral.
Lastly, you will visit the Nidaros Cathedral, where you will have time to discover the church on your own as well as taking part of a tour which will provide information about the building itself and the history of the church. At the end of your stay, you will receive a beautiful book about the cathedral.
