Take a guided bus tour from Ornes through beautiful scenery to the small village of Holandsvik, where you enter a boat for a 10-minute ride across the fjord. Upon arrival to Svartisen, you may visit a moose farm and get close to Europe’s largest land-living animal. An adult male can grow more than 2 metres tall and weigh between 400-500 kg. The guides will take you on a tour where you get the chance to get close to and maybe even feed the moose.
At the Svartisen Tourist Centre, you will be able to admire the beauty of this enigmatic ice world whilst enjoying a warm drink and the centre’s varied buffet of delicious cakes. Afterwards, you continue your journey along the beautiful Helgeland coast back to Bodo where you rejoin the ship. On the way, you will pass Saltstraumen, the world’s strongest tidal current.
Please note: you will not go all the way up to the glacier or actually walk on the glacier!
