Hiking to the famous Pulpit Rock
This guided trip will take you to Preikestolen (Pulpit Rock), one of Norway’s most popular and spectacular hikes. It is for a good reason that this hike has gained its popularity with visitors to Norway and locals alike. Situated only a few hours from Stavanger, Pulpit Rock – or Preikestolen in Norwegian – is a towering cliff-plateau directly suspended over Lysefjorden.
This is an optional add-on package. Booking this excursion requires another night in Stavanger. The package price will appear during the regular tour booking process.
What to expect:
You will be picked up at your hotel in Stavanger in the morning. First you head to the Stavanger ferry pier and take the ferry to Tau. From Tau it is a 30 minute drive to Preikestolen Lodge, the starting point of the hike. The hike up will take between 2 to 3 hours, the trail is 3,8 km one way. Once at the Pulpit Rock you will spend some time enjoying the view, the beautiful nature – and most likely taking photos! The hike back will also take 2 to 3 hours, and expected arrival time back in Stavanger is around 3:00-4:00 PM.
